(Having no experience does not mean you will be denied; we love to talk about breed education!) ** I have read the above information carefully and have filled out this application honestly and understand that omission of information and/or failure to answer all questions and sign the application can result in a declined application *Enter your initials to acknowledge.French bulldogs are insanely expensive dogs to own and are incredibly high maintenance. Do you feel you are sufficiently well versed enough to own one? Have you done extensive research and become educated on the breed and are you ready to take on the financial responsibility of a Frenchie? *We reserve the right to ask for proof that you are financially sound and have sufficient income to meet the medical requirements that often come with owning a French Bulldog or any of our special needs dogs that may require regular vet visits. Given that Frenchie’s can find themselves in medical peril and emergency situations you understand that you are to always communicate with the rescue if something does arise as we can sometimes help fundraise for these dogs to assist with medical expenses in those unfortunate situation/circumstances. But if you ever feel you can not medically care for the dog or have a life style change they must be returned to our rescue and cannot be rehomed or euthanized for lack of funds. Frenchie’s do not travel well because they are brachycephalic if you have a job that requires you to travel a lot a Frenchie is probably not the dog for you. If you are going to have to move often and the dog will have to fly, this is probably not the dog for you. Frenchie’s are at high risk of being stolen and used for nefarious purposes. You understand that it is incredibly imperative to keep them safe at all times by making sure gates are locked, the dog is not left unattended outside, they are not left alone in a vehicle, they are not walked unless they are secure with a leash, etc. You take it seriously that their safety is paramount, and you keep them safe and secure at all times. *Please be aware that the application for a Frenchie will run higher than that of any other dog because they are high maintenance, and this will more than likely ensure that the dog will be provided for properly financially. Vetting Frenchie’s costs more than other dogs as does their nutrition. Our adoption fees are considered as a donation and can be tax deductible as we are a nonprofit organization. * If you are adopting a puppy, a $100 spay/neuter deposit will be required in addition to the adoption fee. A portion of this will be refunded once proof is provided that the puppy has been spayed/neutered and all vaccines have been completed (if applicable). All animals MUST be spayed/neutered BY 6 months of age (unless there is a VALID medical reason why that cannot happen, such as an abnormality). Also, if an omission or untruth is discovered after adoption takes place, I understand that the rescue reserves the right to annul the adoption and reclaim the animal. I give the rescue permission to investigate the information provided, including conducting a background check, as well as contact veterinarians, etc. I understand the adoption decision is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to the compatibility of the family and home to the individual pet, and other applications received on this pet. I understand it is the rescue's sole prerogative to decide which home is most appropriate, that my application can be denied at any time for any reason, that their decision is final, and I will not contest it. The rescue's goal is to place pets in loving, lifelong homes and any information gathered is used only to that interest.
